PROPOSED PTDF ‘CATCH THEM YOUNG’ COMPETITIONS IN PETROLEUM TECHNOLOGY FOR SECONDARY SCHOOLS
The Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF) is a Government Agency with the mandate to develop indigenous manpower for the Nigerian Oil and Gas Industry in the fields of engineering, geology, science and management in the petroleum industry. To actualize this mandate, the Fund has embarked on the following activities:
i. Overseas Scholarship Scheme (OSS) ii. Local Scholarship Scheme iii.
Overseas Scholarship Scheme (OSS)
The Overseas Scholarship Scheme (OSS) which is the Fund's flagship programme, is designed to meet the long-term capacity requirements of the Oil and Gas Industry through training of young Nigerians in related fields of Engineering, Geological Sciences, Environmental and Energy Studies both at the Masters and Doctorate levels.
The expectation is that beneficiaries will fit in directly to the Petroleum Industry and/or the academia and hence contribute positively
WELDERS TRAINING CERTIFICATION PROGRAMME (WTCP)
The Petroleum Technology Development Fund (PTDF) is the Federal Government Agency mandated to build capacity in Nigeria’s oil and gas industry.
The Fund, in conjunction with the Nigerian Institute of Welding (NIW) in our continuation of efforts to close identified skills gap in the area of welding and fabrication is commencing the second training of the Welders’ Training and Certification Program (WTCP) for the next tranche
This includes work segments such as:
Buildings (New and renovations)
Procurement of Workshops Equipment
Procurement of Laboratory Equipment
Telecommunications and Information Technology
ENGINEERING DESIGN TRAINING PROGRAMME (EDTP)
To ensure the fulfillment of government’s renewed quest to enhance indigenous participation in the oil and gas industry, PTDF has adopted a strategy for sustainable engineering design competency and capacity development. Consequently, graduate engineers have been trained on the use of various engineering design softwares and they are as follows:
For the effective utilization of skills acquired under the EDTP as well as
